[Note from the Editor of “Modern Philosophy”]: Education is the main and focus of China’s traditional civilization. It has a major influence in classical China and produces a durable impact. Since modern times, Western learning has been shattered and the collapse of academics. China has moved from the academic era to the “post-school era” (Western learning era), and Chinese academics and Chinese society have also turned to the process of modernization. However, more than a hundred years later, China is undergoing “the world has changed a lot in a century”, and the rejuvenation of the people has become a serious issue of the era. The requests of the times and the experience and teachings of history have changed our once “arrogant” attitude towards tradition, and have actively combined the basic principles of Marxism with the excellent traditional civilization of China. We believe that “toward the post-education era, we should not be determined by breaking the entire classical civilization as a condition, but instead use traditional resources creatively to face the future” (Chen Shaoming). Therefore, the rejuvenation of academic research in the new era is inevitable.
The Department of Chinese Philosophy in Zhongshan has been engaged in Chinese philosophy and related majors. For many years, it has used “classics and interpretation” as the main academic research and development, and has had a wider influence at home and abroad. Many colleagues have conducted teaching and research on Chinese classics, and have also built many trees in academic literature research such as “Age”, “Shangshu”, “Praise”, “Speech”, “Speech”, and “Mencius”. The “History Research and Discussion Workshop” for the whole country, led by young teachers from the Department of Philosophy, has been held for more than ten periods, and a large number of lively young historians from all over the country have gathered. In recent years, under the guidance of the “doing Chinese philosophy” approach, the Middle Chinese Philosophy Team has worked hard to transform the modern thinking of classical thought and has formed a distinctive academic research format.
The “Modern Philosophy” is based on the Department of Philosophy of Zhongshan, and is undertaken by the Institute of Marxism and Modernization of China. It has a well-known reputation in the academic world. The Modern Philosophy Plan publishes three special columns of “Study and Chinese Civilization” every year, with a total of no less than 40 articles published in five years. The standard for the collection of articles in the academic column is to discuss related topics such as academic literature, academic figures, academic topics, and historical evolution based on the standpoint, method and field of study or classical learning. During the five-year construction cycle, a special task workshop for “Study and Chinese Civilization” is planned to be released every year, and young and middle-aged students with active academic and research fields are invited to participate. What kind of learning is Chinese traditional learning? What attitude should we treat our learning tomorrow? This is undoubtedly a study by ancient people, a question that has to be answered. The two modern classifications make learning a unique category. Among all the learning questions, the status of learning is quite good. For example, “The Book of Changes” seems to be philosophy, “Shangshu” and “Years” seem to be history. “People” seems to be literature, “Legend” seems to be music, and the three “Travels” are the most difficult to learn, “Zhou” seems to be politics and law, while the local prosecutor’s department seems to be economic, and the winter prosecutor’s department seems to be architecture, and “Travels” is suitable for human studies. “Monthly Order” in “Travels” is considered legal studies, and “Big School” and “Doctor of the Mean” seem to be philosophy. If you are forced to strengthen this category, you will not only leave a lot of content that is not classified, but you will not be forced to strengthen if you are already educated, but you will definitely give up many main contents.
